Berman Fenelus

Berman Fenelus is an NY Emmy-winning storyteller and director based in New York City, channeling over 15 years of authentic, character-driven work into narrative television and feature film. His practice, rooted in the immigrant and multicultural communities of his native Brooklyn, is built on gratitude and on giving voice to those mainstream culture too often leaves out.

As the founder of All Area Crew, Berman has crafted a bold, cross-disciplinary body of work spanning documentary, narrative shorts, commercial campaigns, and still photography. His short film Have a nICE day screened at UrbanWorld, GLAFF, and LALFF. He produced the documentary Kojo, a portrait of a child jazz prodigy that played AFI Docs and the PBS Online Film Festival, and directed the award-winning narrative short Lana, an unflinching look at substance abuse. His still photography was exhibited at Dumbo Open Studios, while his commercial and branded work includes campaigns for Adidas, Maybelline, VH1, and Hilton. In 2020, his PSA Spell It Out earned a New York Emmy for raising awareness of childhood food allergies.

Now, Berman is bringing that range and purpose to a new slate of narrative projects. He is developing his debut feature film, a coming-of-age story steeped in Brooklyn’s grit and heart; the TV pilot; and the web series Other People’s Kids, which he created and is directing. He is in post-production on I’m Still Standing, a documentary that follows a life shaped by disability and resilience. This diverse upcoming work, alongside his established short-form, commercial, and advocacy portfolio, positions him as a singular storyteller ready to lead on larger canvases.

Berman is actively seeking collaborators to bring these character-rich narratives to television and cinema, continuing his mission to reshape culture by putting underrepresented voices where they belong: center frame.
